Description

Static three-phase electricity meter WAVIoT EM 3 T is designed for active and reactive electricity and power quality measurements in AC three-phase four-wire electric grids. Three-phase WAVIoT EM 3 T electricity meters are connected via current or potential transformers and are designed for use in electrical substations..

WAVIoT EM 3 T with a built-in NB-Fi modem transmits data to NB-Fi base stations that may be located in a long distance. NB-Fi base stations provide bi-directional connectivity between WAVIoT electricity meters and WAVIoT Meter Data Management system. NB-Fi ensures the wireless collection of real-time consumption data and a detailed usage overview, which is then automatically processed. The readings of the meter are transmitted via NB-Fi protocol at custom intervals from 1 to 60 minutes.

WAVIoT electricity meters measure the following parameters:

  • Active energy in each tariff and the total active energy, kW·h
  • Reactive energy in each tariff and the total reactive energy, kvar·h
  • Electric grid parameters (phase voltage, line voltage, current in each phase, active, reactive and total power (for each phase and overall), instantaneous power factor in each phase and overall, AC frequency)
  • Power quality parameters of electric energy (positive and negative voltage deviation, frequency deviation, voltage dip duration and depth, overvoltage duration)

WAVIoT EM 3 T electricity meter has a non-volatile memory for power consumption data, logs up to 1,000 event records, and notifies customers about events such as exceeding of limits of power, voltage or current, loss of power supply or case tampering.

WAVIoT EM 3 T transformer meter has 8-16 V redundant power inputs, which allow autonomous data exchange in the absence of mains power. Sealing of the terminal block cover prevents unauthorized access to terminal block screws, power leads, and backup power inputs. In the case of the terminal block cover or the meter body invasion, the corresponding trigger immediately records an event in the meter log on WAVIoT Meter Data Management (MDM) system.

WAVIoT Head-End system enables automatic synchronization of time for each electricity meter in the NB-Fi network, and remote wireless firmware upgrade through the bi-directional NB-Fi connectivity.

Distribution or utility service companies, as well as WAVIoT electricity meters owners, can switch off the load relay remotely via the WAVIoT MDM system. Suppliers can also change the tariff schedule for all WAVIoT electricity meters simultaneously.

Detailed power consumption data and event logs for every WAVIoT electricity meter are available in WAVIoT MDM system. Individual or summary consumption reports and event logs can be downloaded in Excel. APIs of WAVIoT HES and MDM systems are available for integration with external IT systems. WAVIoT electricity meters support the DLMS/COSEM Communication protocol that ensures interoperability and enables standard communication with electricity meter.

NB-Fi ensures confidentiality and integrity of the transmitted information - data is protected with end-to-end AES-256 encryption.

WAVIoT three-phase and single-phase electricity meters are a reliable solution for building Smart AMI and Smart Grid systems. WAVIoT electricity meters are deployed quickly with minimal additional infrastructure cost and allow building a scalable AMI/Smart Grid system for efficient energy monitoring, management, and billing.
